Etsy Made Local 2018 – Kid’s Activities

As a grown-up, it’s lots of fun wandering round an Etsy Made Local event. Browsing all the treasures that the stallholders have to offer and gazing at them with child-like wonder. And whilst many grown-ups bring along kids who also love a bit of handmade shopping, there are also little ones who have been bribed, coerced or even forced into trailing along and being dragged reluctantly by the mitten from stall to stall.

This year we want to make sure that our event is fun for everyone! Even the ones that have been unwillingly drafted into ‘Operation Christmas Shopping’! So Saturday 1st December will be geared up with families in mind.

Kids (and grown-ups who want a break, or just can’t resist a little crayoning time) can stop at our activity table, and colour in pictures of our very own Birminghamster.
You can also go on a hamster hunt, and see how many Birminghamsters you can find around the market. Come to the Etsy Information desk to tell us how many you found, and the first 50 children to find all of the Birminghamsters win a prize!
From 12pm-4pm we will also have face painting and glitter by Face Painter Mask of Art, which is free with any purchase from any of our stalls.

Don’t forget, you can also join in with a fun crafty Christmas Tree workshop that’s suitable for all ages and abilities. There’s more information in our previous blog post.

Hopefully that’s enough to keep your kids placated! But we know it’s not just the little kids that grumble about being made to go Christmas shopping, so for the other grumpy members of your shopping entourage, there’s a spot to sit and watch the world go by, or they can grab a snack or drink from one of our refreshment vendors while they leave you to shop in peace!
